Partners for a Purpose
7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. Luke 5:7 (KJV)
When my mother was about to cook something new for dinner, she would take the recipe to the store with her. All of the ingredients would be listed and she could just buy everything that was on the recipe. She didn’t have to worry whether it was in the kitchen cabinet already. She would buy everything she needed at one time. At home, she would take everything out of the bag and ready to cook the item. Simple. No problems and the dinner was great.
But, there are some projects that are not as simple as an entrée for dinner. Some projects take a team to complete. What if you had been working on a project for months? When it is time to complete the project, you have a disagreement or just an emergency arises and the people you counted on to help you suddenly can’t? What do you do? You first, pray. You second, pray some more. Then next you look around you for people who are willing to help you.
In the Bible, Peter was an expert fisherman with an actual fishing business. Jesus told him to launch out into the deep for fish. He did as Jesus told him. When the harvest of fish came in, Peter could not bring all of the fish in on his boat or his boat would break. Peter called for his partners with their boats to come help him bring the load in. God knew you would have a harvest to bring in. He also knew exactly the people that HE wanted to help you bring it in. My prayer today is that God bring the right people into your life but, that you recognize them for who they are, “Your Partners for a Purpose.”
Prayer: God bless my friends with what they need, who they need and when they need it to fulfill your purpose today!
